It's a start!

Monday night our city leaders made some changes that are a step in the right direction for all of the pups out there who are tethered outdoors. Pups who are tethered must now be on a chain that is at least ten feet long. It is now illegal to tether a dog who is younger than four months old. And, the tethered dogs must have easy access to food, water and shelter. It doesn't seem like much, but at least it's a start. The Coalition to Unchain Dogs has been helping to get these rules changed and is happy for this little victory, but there is a lot more to do. Most dogs who are chained, are chained 24/7 and this tends to make dogs more aggressive and is not good for a pup's health. Of course, all of the All Wags puppy parents know this, but there are many who don't. Want to help? Contact the Coalition to Unchain Dogs. They need people to help build fences and help them at events. We may not be able to help every pup, but we can help some and it will make a difference to those pups!
