A Blessed Event

We all know how you feel about your pups, but do you have a need for a higher power to make that pup feel extra special and blessed? Well then, come on out to Dilworth United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 2nd from 4-6pm. All Wags is sponsoring a fabulous Pet Blessing event there. They are also doing tons of great contests with fabulous prizes and lots of fun activities for you and your pup to enjoy. There will be photography, a parade, vendors, the blessing and live music. They are also collecting food for the pet food drive, so bring a bag or a can or a few to help pets in need. We  hope to see you out on Sunday!

Buy Stamps, Help Pups!

Starting on April 30th you can help homeless pets just by buying stamps. Unfortunately we all have to mail off bill payments, etc., so why not help homeless pets while doing that? Support Stamps to the Rescue 2010 and not only will you help to raise awareness of how many homeless pets there are out there, but Halo dog food is going to also buy dog food for shelter pets when you buy the stamps. Plus, you get to have cute photos of homeless pets on your stamps, we all know that is awesome! You can go to the USPS website now to pre-order the stamps. That's right, you can save yourself a trip to the post office!

Bark in the Park was so much fun!

Hey everyone! Did you come up and see us at Bark in the Park today? It was so much fun! We loved seeing so many All Wags dogs and made lots of new friends who we hope to see come to All Wags soon. The weather was just perfect! The sky kept looking like it would rain, but those clouds must have known that they would ruin all the fun because no rain came and just made it nice and cool (something that is especially great for us pups in our fur coats at an outdoor event). There were so many yummy treats and goodies for all of the pups and we loved making friends with so many great rescue groups and other fabulous organizations! Did you check out those cool dogs doing tricks with frisbees? Very awesome! And, how about the contests? Best Bark? Ha Ha! It was a great day and we can't wait until next year!

Happy Earth Day!!

How did you and your pup celebrate Earth Day? A nice walk outside or maybe just some hang out time? What fabulous weather we had today to celebrate our Earth. Us pups were enjoying the beautiful weather. Want another Earth Day tip that's awesome for both the Earth and your pup? How about trading in those rawhide bones that can often contain toxins for something much more natural? Mandy and Ella's mama got them some great sweet potato chews at a farmer's market in Oregon and Ella said that they are absolutely delicious. She actually says that she prefers them to rawhides. Better yet, they ship! Check out Snook's Sweet Potato Dog Chews, your pup will thank you! Alice and Nero are popping in from small paws to say that is a great (and yummy) way to celebrate Earth Day every day!

Celebrate Earth Day Every Day!

Earth day is this Thursday and did you know that there is a small thing that you can do every day to celebrate Earth Day? All you need to do is scoop your poop. Yep, that's right, when your pup does its business outside, just scoop that poop on up and dispose of it properly. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services has a "Scoop the Poop" Campaign that they are promoting right now. If you want to hear all about it, be sure to head out to the Earth Day Celebration at The US National Whitewater Center this Sunday, April 25th. It's from 11-2 and your pup is welcome to come out and enjoy the celebration with you. Once you've celebrated the earth and learned about fabulous ways to save it, you and your pup can enjoy a gorgeous hike on the USNWC's grounds! What a great little Sunday!

Puppy Love

Us pups just love love. I mean who doesn't? What's not to love? Snuggling and hugging, great stuff! We also love that at All Wags there is an abundance of love to go around. We get snuggled and hugged by the people at All Wags and we then snuggle each other. Just like the love between Callie, Domino and Zoey in this great, loving photo. There is plenty of love to go around. Can you even handle it? Then we get to go home and pass all that love on to you, our puppy parents. Come on, I know you have a smile on your face now. The absolute best kind of love is the love that we get from our families and we are so thankful to be a part of them!

Sunbathing, baby!

Pretty girl, Carmella, is enjoying a day in the sun, as we all have been. Look at the gorgeous smile on her face. I bet you can't help just smiling back at her! Can you believe this awesome and beautiful weather? It's even still gorgeous enough to enjoy once we get home in the evenings too. Us pups are really loving these long, sunny days! I guess we all earned it after the yucky winter. I mean, I know other places have even yuckier winters, but, come on, we all know we chose to live in North Carolina for a reason.

Adopt-a-bull Campaign at the Humane Society of Charlotte

During the entire month of April, the Humane Society of Charlotte will be shining the spotlight on pit bulls and pit bull mixes. They are going to focus on education, awareness and, of course, adoption! Adoption fees have been lowered during April on these "love-a-bull" dogs, only $55 instead of the usual $110. And, anyone who has adopted a dog knows, even the $110 is a great deal! All animals available for adoption have been screened by a veterinarian for health and temperament, are current on their vaccinations, and have been spayed/neutered.
This Saturday, April 10th, they are having a very special Adopt-a-Bull Party in the shelter's parking lot. The pit bulls and pit bull mixes will be available for meet & greet with prospective new puppy parents. In addition, the shelter staff and volunteers will be on hand to educate the public about what great companions these canines are and how myths about the breed have been an obstacle to placing them in new forever homes.

Pollen AND 90 Degree Days!?

Ok, Mr. Weather Man, what is going on? It was so cold for so long and so went, which just didn't make for very good playing conditions for us pups. Now, all of a sudden, it's just so hot and it's even not the "Dog Days of Summer." What in the world is going to happen then? We do love the sun and laying in it and thankfully we have plenty of fresh water and shade at All Wags. But... what is this greenish yellow powder stuff that is all over? Pollen, or something like that? I hear from the people that we are supposed to get a little rain. Maybe then all of the green stuff will get washed away and the weather will go back to spring. Us pups really hate to complain about sunshine, but when you have a fur coat that you can't take off, what are you gonna do? So happy that winter is gone, though! Check out my pal, Yuri! He may be a breed from  cooler climate, but he is soaking up the sun and loving it like the rest of us! Who doesn't like sun?

Dogswalk Against Cancer 2010

The Dogswalk Against Cancer was this morning and it was a huge success. We all had an amazing time and it was so great seeing so many of our All Wags friends out at The Canine Cafe this morning supporting the American Cancer Society. We raised $2,375 in honor of our dear friend, Rudy, and there are still some donations coming in! All Wags absolutely has the best family of customers and friends in Charlotte and we are so thankful to you all! Our friend Leslie Owen was the top fundraiser on our team, raising $310. Can I say awesome again? I mean, because it is! Thank you too to Chele Fassig for letting the WSOC tent be our home base, it made it so much easier for everyone on our team to find each other. We love our All Wags family!
