Even More Reasons to Join our Team for the 2010 Dogswalk Against Cancer

If you haven't already signed up for the 2010 Dogswalk Against Cancer, here are a few more reasons why you should join our team and why this event will be a great way to spend some awesome quality time with your pup...

1. Salsaritas will be on-hand serving breakfast burritos and tacos. What a yummy way to start the day!

2. The first 150 walkers to check-in on the morning of the walk will receive a coupon for a free 7.5 lb. bag of Pinnacle dog food. Free food for you, free food for us pups!

3. My favorite reason, personally... After the walk there is going to be an Easter egg hunt for us pups (we'll need your help, though) in the parking lot of Canine Cafe. Some of the eggs will hold a golden coin and if you are one of the lucky people/pups to find one of those, you can turn it on for a special prize!

Ready to sign up? OK, click here to go to our team page and click on Join Team. We would love to have you join us!

Follow up to: These Pups Need a Home

Hey Everyone! It seems that the cute golden retriever and lab puppies who were found on the side of the road have been adopted. Thanks to everyone who was interested and a special thanks to wanting to help homeless pets. If you are still interested in helping homeless pets and weren't successful in adopting one of these little cuties, please consider checking out Animal Control or Humane Society of Charlotte. Both have many pups who would love to come and live with you!

Teacher's Pet

Most kids love dogs and just can't resist being happy around them, we all know that. And, our puppy friend, Coyote, knows it best. She goes with her mom to Newell Elementary each week to volunteer. The kids read to Coyote and this helps them to build up their confidence in reading. Plus, our lucky friend, Coyote, gets to hear all of the stories that they read to her and hang out with these great kids! Just look at how happy she and her little friend look in this photo. We're so proud of you for helping out our community, Coyote!

These pups need a home!

Can you believe that someone left these 12 adorable puppies on the side of the road? They were found in a box and were absolutely freezing. They appear to be a Lab/ Golden Retreiver Mix or maybe even 2 litters. Either way, they are super cute and would love to come and live at your home! The guess is that they are 7-8 weeks old. If you or anyone you know is interested in a puppy, please contact Lee at randi_lee82@hotmail.com. Help turn their sad beginning into a happy ending! Thanks to Abby Dasher's mama, Ally, for sending us their info!

Remembering Rudy

I hope that you are ready to shed a tear, we have been a lot here at All Wags. If you aren't, I wouldn't read any further... Our good pal, Rudy crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently. He had that nasty disease called cancer and the vet said that there just wasn't anything else that they could do and that chemo wouldn't even help him. Rudy just turned 1 on January 30th, so he was really just a baby and way to young to leave. There was so much love in Rudy's life while he was here, though, and we are really happy here at All Wags that we got to be a part of it. His mom worked for CMC and was so happy to find a place that could care for her sweet boy since she had to work long hours. She loved him so much and they were such a happy pair. Rudy would always be so excited to get to All Wags! He loved playing with balls and he especially loved playing in the rain. If the rain was coming down, you could bet that his beautiful golden fur would be all wet in a very short amount of time! There are tears running down my puppy face right now... We'll miss you friend!

To honor Rudy's life we are going to dedicate our team for the Dogswalk Against Cancer to Rudy. If you would like to join us or make a donation please visit our team page. This year's walk is on Saturday, April 3rd and begins and ends at the Canine Cafe. With great walks like these, there will be less tear-filled days and more cures and happy endings for both people and pups. If you have any questions about the team you can also ask at All Wags or feel free to email our team organizer, Kelly Tamerlano, at ktamerlano@gmail.com.

All of us pups are thankful for every day that we get with you, our loving people! Don't be surprised if we give your faces a few extra licks tonight!

Babies have such cute little faces

Here are some very cute little faces that you will be seeing around All Wags a lot more frequently. Lucky us! This is Alice and she is a Golden Retreiver puppy who is our newest everyday dog. Don't you just want to snuggle her puppy fur and get a big lick in the face with her puppy breath. What's better than a puppy? Well, how about a people baby? Josh's baby Kaiah is going to be coming to work with him a lot more and look at what a good girl she is just cuddling right up there in a dog bed with Alice. I'm so glad that I will get to see my people neice so much more often and you know my mama is excited to see her grandbaby. I mean, seriously, could All Wags be any cuter? Such sweet happy little faces to see everyday...

It's not Goodbye, it's See Ya Later!

On Thursday, we said goodbye to our good friend, Sammy. And, we celebrated in style, complete with a great cake that Tobey's mom made. Sammy came to All Wags for the first time on August 27th and came every single day until this past Thursday. Her dad owns part of Lenny's Sub Shop and he was working in Charlotte temporarily getting the new store open. He, of course, couldn't imagine being gone so long without his girl, Sammy, so he was so happy to find All Wags and be able to have a safe and fun place to bring her in Charlotte. Sammy also had the adventure if living in a hotel for 6 months, how many pups can say that? They are now back in Tampa, FL and I'm sure very happy to be home, but Sammy's dad will have to come back from time to time to visit the Charlotte store so Sammy will be coming back to visit us then and we can't wait to see our friend!

Hi Mom!

Hi Mom, it's Teddy and Cuddles. Rosie let us take over the blog today so that we could say hi to you. We're enjoying our time being boarded at All Wags. The people are so nice and sweet to us and we love playing with all of the other pups. It's like a home away from home and we are so lucky to have a great place to stay where we are loved while you are away. We hope that you are having just as much fun as we are! We love you and miss you and we are so looking forward to snuggling with you when you get back. Here's sending you lots of face licks (i.e. kisses)!

Happy Paws Bakery

I love, love, love dog treats! Most pups do, and if they are lovingly made from scratch with good, natural ingredients, they are even better. We can taste the difference and, hey, then the treats taste more like your food, which we are always looking for a way to get our hands on. Happy Paws is a new dog bakery in Charlotte and their gourmet dog treats are now going to be available to purchase right in the All Wags lobby. They are going to be delivering fresh treats every Wednesday. Right now, we have samples available of their Dign' Bacon Cheese Bites and every pup who has tasted them so far has given them their paw of approval. The prices are great too, 1 dozen of the Dign' Bacon Cheese Bites is only $6. There is a complete list of prices on the table in the All Wags lobby. If you don't see it, just ask. They also do birthday cakes, so keep that in mind for your pups next birthday! They only need 72 hours notice for cakes. Yummy!

Is your pup the cutest?

It seems that all puppy moms and dads are partial to their pup and think they are the cutest. Well, now you get a chance to prove it. In honor of Spay Day USA, the Humane Society of the United States is sponsoring an online pet photo contest. All you have to do to enter is upload your pup's cutest photo and then shamelessly self-promote your pup to get votes. I suggest that Facebook thing and sending lots of emails. Then, let the voting begin! It's free to enter and there are some great prizes! The grand winner gets a photo session with the fabulous pet photographer, Amanda Jones as well as being featured on the HSUS home page and a $500 shopping spree. And, don't forget to honor Spay Day 2010 on February 20th! Spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering your pets! (By the way, we really think this photo of Louis is worthy of winning a cute pup photo contest!)

Can you help find Peaty?

We got an email from the Surry Animal Rescue in Mt. Airy, NC asking us for some help. One of their pups who had just found their forever home slipped out of her collar and ran away Wednesday night, February 3rd, at around 10pm. She had just arrived home for the first time and so she doesn't know her home or her owners and probably won't be able to find them on her own to get back to them. The new owners live on Maryland Ave. and their names are Kristen and Nicholas. The dog's name is Peaty and she is a basset/ lab mix and is white with large black spots. She is about 9 month's old, weighs 33 pounds and is very shy. She had just been groomed for her big arrival at her new home and has red painted toe nails and a red & yellow bandana on. If any of you happen to find her and can get her to a vet to be scanned, she does have a microchip. Kristen and Nicholas, her very worried new puppy parents, can be reached at 704-533-3311 and if you have any info and aren't able to reach them, you can call Regina at the Surry Animal Rescue at 336-429-9211. Let's all keep our eyes peeled for Peaty and send good thoughts their way for a quick return! Peaty deserves her chance to live in her forever home!

We love new friends at All Wags!

How does that old song go? "Make new friends, but keep the old; One is Silver and the other's Gold." We love all of our old and new friends at All Wags. Sampson here is a new All Wags friend and he is loving coming to All Wags. He's giving Bella a hug and fitting in just awesome with us pups. We're glad that you are here, Sampson! Remember, puppy parents, if you have any friends who have been thinking about bringing their pups to All Wags, be sure and have them give your name when they come in. Your pup will get a free bath for that referral!
